Happy Friday!!! Hope ya’ll have been having a great week! Today we have Karen Rodriguez as this week’s feature member!
You’ll find her most days throwing it down the rest of the 6pmerzzz. She may be quiet at times but don’t let that fool you. Her quick wit and appreciation for colorful banter is just one reason why we enjoy having her here. Here’s a little more about her below!
What do you do for a living and describe yourself in three words.
KR: I am a sales rep for a Technology Company. Three words to describe myself would be, Independent, determined, and small but fierce J
What was your first Crossfit experience like?
KR: My first crossfit experience was an introduction to crossfit course. At the end of the class the coaches had us do a short 5min workout which consisted of; 5 push ups, 10 sit ups, and 15 air squats. I remember thinking to myself, piece of cake. WRONG! I was in so much pain following the workout, it made me realize that I needed to get to work.
What is your WHY? Why do you CrossFit?
KR: I grew up playing sports, mostly softball and tennis. After playing collegiate tennis, I gave up my active lifestyle for 2 years. The absence from exercise took a toll on my body, both physically and mentally. I finally decided to try crossfit and it has been one of the best decisions I have made thus far. I have always been accustomed to working out alongside my friends/teammates and I feel like crossfit offers the camaraderie that a normal gym would not.
If you could describe Bedlam using 3 words what would they be?
KR: Therapeutic, Motivating, and Pure Awesomeness!
What are your favorite and least favorite movements and why?
KR: My favorite movement would have to be foam rolling. JK! I would have to say cleans and double unders. I’m the most consistent with these and I just enjoy doing them in a wod. Least favorite would be snatching, rowing, thrusters, and the list goes on and on…
What is some advice you would give to someone who wants to do Crossfit?
KR: My advice for someone who wants to do crossfit is to do what YOU can and work to improve.
