HAPPY Saturday!!! This week’s spotlight feature is all about Christina Moreno!
From day one she has exhibited a willingness to learn and adapt to every challenge put in front of her. She sets goals and works very hard to achieve them while enjoying the process it takes to get there. Her cool nature and ability to make others laugh are just some of the reasons why people enjoy her company and call her their close friend. Here’s a little more about her. 🙂
What do you do for a living?
CM: Clark High School English Teacher and Coach
Why do you compete?
CM: I compete to challenge myself. I am addicted to the feeling of accomplishing something I once never thought I could. One thing I admire about crossfit is that there is always something to improve on, and competition is one of the best ways to test my abilities and document growth.
What was your first CrossFit experience like?
CM: My first CrossFit experience was at Bedlam. I was always a “Gold’s” workout person before, and I remember thinking I was in pretty good shape. After my first workout, I quickly realized there were so many muscles in my body I had never even used before. That feeling of accomplishment I had when I finished my fist workout was incredible.
How has it changed your life? (if at all)
CM: Crossfit has not only given me an escape from the stresses of every day life and helped me maintain a healthy lifestyle, but it has introduced me to such wonderful people I now consider my family. I have met some of my best friends at Bedlam, and I am so grateful to have a family away from home.
Do you have any hidden talents?
CM: I don’t bake or even cook extravagant meals that often, but I’m actually a pretty good cook. I make a pretty mean pumpkin cheesecake 🙂
What piece of advice would you give to someone who is thinking about starting CrossFit for the first time?
CM: I would tell them to try not to vomit. haha No seriously. I would tell them to stick with it. CrossFit is NOT easy, but it is so rewarding.
