Feature Friday!
We LOVE our members and would like to recognize them for all of their hard work and dedication to their health and our community. Every Friday we will feature a member and give YOU the opportunity to meet them and learn how CrossFit has changed their lives. We wouldn’t be who we are without you and we THANK YOU for your commitment to yourself and to the program.
This week’s feature is Naveen K!
What do you do for a living?
NK: I am a urologist. A urologist is a surgeon who takes care of the urinary and sexual function for men and women. My expertise is treating men for prostate cancer with robotic surgery
How long have you been doing CrossFit?
NK: I started in February 2016.
What was your first CrossFit experience like?
NK: I brought a victim, er friend, with me. We were both gassed at the end. I was sore for the next 3 days and knew I had found the right workout for me. He never came back.
How has it changed your life? (if at all)
NK: Crossfit has given my knees a second life. I can play basketball again and do not feel as sore. I’ve lost about 8-9 pounds. I need to buy new clothes that fit 🙂
What is your least favorite movement and why?
NK: Getting in the car to start heading over to the gym. I’m thinking about the challenge ahead, and I am always running late.
What else do like to do when you’re not in the gym?
NK: I try to spend my free time with my daughter. We love watching her grow. I also love basketball and spending time developing my urology practice, TheUrologyPlace.com
What piece of advice would you give to someone who is thinking about starting CrossFit for the first time?
NK: Start slow and stay with it. You’ll be happy you did!
