Laura works hard. She’s a goal setter, go getter, and doesn’t take no for an answer. A few months ago she got her first kipping pull up and every day since then she gets up on that bar and puts in work. You will also find her putting in some running miles EVERY day after class AND on weekends. She is understanding of the concept that building strength and endurance takes time and ensures she’s doing what she needs to do to reach her goals. We love her positive vibes and sweetsweet soul. Here is more about her!

•What do you do for a living?•
LH: I am the Marketing Director for Grande Communications.

•What was your first Crossfit experience like?•
LH: I was living in Dallas at the time and a friend of mine had started crossfit at CFDC. They hosted community WODs Saturday mornings and she asked me if I wanted to give it a shot. I had been a big runner, completing 5 marathons, and pretty much thought I could do anything after that. Well, I think we all know how well that first WOD worked out for me. But I loved it and shortly thereafter, signed up for the onramp class.

•What goals either personal/crossfit related have you set for 2017?•
LH: This year I hit a big age milestone. I can’t help but reflect on how I felt when I turned 30, how I felt when I turned 40 and how I want to feel when I turn 50. I am already much healthier now than when I turned 40 thanks to crossfit, so 50 is looking pretty promising.

•If you could describe Bedlam using 3 words what would they be?•
LH: Welcoming, Inspiring, Uplifting

•What/who inspires you?•
LH: People who own their life. No one else is going to do it for you.

•What are some other activities you like to do outside of the gym?•
LH: I still like to run. I am a creature of habit and almost every Saturday morning I like to get up, run somewhere interesting, and enjoy a nice cup of coffee. I also imagine myself a photographer and use it as an excuse to travel all over the world. It’s a great escape and I continuously dream of places far away. Finally, I like to play golf. Crossfit has certainly made me a long hitter!

•If you could give any advice to someone just starting CrossFit what would it be?•
LH: Today you did your best and tomorrow you can to do better. LNHanson
